Welcome to the six decades old The Mysore Bank Employees Education Society, a pioneer in the field of education in Jayanagar areas of Bengaluru.
The society duly, registered under the ' Mysore Societies Registration Act No. III of 1904, dated 21st May 1956 ' has been successfully running educational institutions since the year 1956.
MAIN OBJECTIVES & AIM OF THE SOCIETY :-
Way back in late 1940’s and early 1950’s, the Jayanagar housing layout was formed behind the iconic Lalbagh garden, Bangalore. The area was surrounded by several fruit orchards & villages like Siddapur, Kanakanapalya, Byrasandra, etc.,
At the instance of Late Sri B.V.Narayana Reddy, General Manager of the then The Bank of Mysore Ltd.,the employees of the Bank formed a housing society and with the Banks’ finance a residential colony near the Ashoka Pillar came up in what is now known as 1st Block, Jayanagar.
As there were no schools in the neighbourhood, the employees started a primary school and later a middle school with co-education in the year 1952 in a rented building.
Eventually as popularity of the school grew, the school was upgraded by opening a High School to meet the educational needs of the growing population. In order to run the school in a systematic manner, a Society named as " The Bank of Mysore Employees Education Society " was formed with Sri B.V. Narayana Reddy and other Senior Officers along with the Bank Employee who were residents of the colony. The Society was registered on 21st May 1956.
Thanks to Sri B.V. Narayana Reddy, (he was earlier a respected civil servant of The then Government of Mysore), who used his good offices with City Improvement Trust Board (CITB) and got about 3 acres of land allotted to the Society in the present 1st Block Jayanagar near Madhavan park circle of Bangalore.
FIRST PRESIDENT :-
Rani Sarala Devi, a member of the then Royal family of Wanaparthi State (now in Mehaboobnagar District of Telangana) known to Sri. B.V. Narayana Reddy was generous enough to donate a princely sum of Rs. 30,000/= with which the ground floor portion of the existing sprawling building came up in the year 1956. As she was a well wisher and a sincere social worker, she was made as the First President of The Mysore Bank Employees Education Society.
The Society also unanimously decided to name the Institute as Rani Sarala Devi Educational Institutions.
The school which initially was meant only for girls to impart education in Primary and High School has been converted partly to accommodate boys also up to 7th standard. For more than a decade, ours was only school to cater to the residents of Jayanagar & surrounding areas.
Gradually the demand for education grew due to rapid development of Jayanagar area. Our education society too expanded the intake in Primary School & High School initially, and by adding a P.U. College in 1990 & Degree College in 2014. All the four Institutions are now co-educational.
PREMISES :-
Over a period of years the premises also extended by adding 1st & 2nd floors to existing ground floor with donations from philanthropists. We have now 55 spacious rooms with wide doors & windows allowing maximum light & ventilation creating the right ambience for students’ learning.
The entire 3 acre campus with vast open playgrounds is bounded by a high rising compound wall with full grown trees along the border providing refreshing greenery & cool shade.
Thanks to philanthropists, we have multiple well maintained modern toilets in each floor. Besides, a heavy duty R.O. plant supplies pure drinking water to our students.
LOCATION :-
The premises is located on the double road studded with shady avenue trees between Ashoka Pillar (Behind Lalbagh) & Madavan Park circle bearing postal address No. 19, 10th Main, Jayanagar 1st Block, Bengaluru – 560 011.
The abetting roads and neighbourhood is calm and clean, in a prestigious area.
PLAYGROUNDS :-
The vast open space in the 3 acres campus in front of the main building is utilised for play grounds, by the students from Primary to College levels.
Basket ball, volley ball, Kabbadi & track events are quite popular.
AUDITORIUM :-
A full pledged auditorium is located in the ground floor as annexe to main building. It has a capacity to accommodate about 200 audience.
SECURITY :-
Our entire premises is surrounded by high raise compound with 2 main gates.
We have round the clock security personnel to guard the premises.
CC TV cameras are fixed at strategic locations to monitor the movements of people.
EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS RUN BY OUR SOCIETY :- (All Co-Educational)
The total strength of all the above institutions for the 2017-18 is around 1000.
MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION :-
Up to 7th standard – Kannada Medium
From 8th to 10th standard – Separate sections for English & Kannada Medium.
For PU & Degree Colleges – Both English & Kannada Medium.
ONLY COMMERCE STREAM :- Pre University and Degree college have Only Commerce Stream.
HIGH SCHOOL SCIENCE LABORATORY :- A science lab for high school students is provided.
LIBRARY :-
The well equipped library to cater to the needs of the students is functioning in the first floor (above the auditorium annexe)
COMPUTER TRAINING :-
A well equipped computer lab with brand new high valued HP desktop computers to teach computer literacy is functioning. All students are regularly undergoing basic computer training.
Our institutions is catering mainly to the children from low income group families living in nearby areas.
MID-DAY MEALS :-
Thanks to state Government scheme, hot & nutrition food is being served every afternoon through ISCKON’s “Akshaya PAtra” scheme.
GOVERNMENT AID :-
From Primary to P.U.College, the staff salaries are met by Government of Karnataka. As the funding is done with government aid, our students’ fees structure is kept low to help the economically down trodden students.
INCOME TAX EXEMPTION FOR DONATIONS :-
As our society is run on a "Not for Profit" basis. We accept voluntary donations from philanthropists & corporate bodies (under their CSR schemes) for our Institutions developmental activities.
Cash Donations to our society are exempted from levy of Income-vide their order No.CIT(E)BLR/80G/K-256/AAAAM5715H/ITO(2)- Vol 2014-2015 dated 23.01.2015, issued to us by The Commissioner of Income-tax (Exemptions), Bengaluru-560 001.
Our Institutions in its 6 decades of functioning, never charged or accepted any capitation fee from students for admission.
Since its inception The Mysore Bank Employees Education Society is being ably run in a democratic way by the Retired Officers of the State Bank of Mysore (now State Bank of India) many of whom had held top / executive posts.
As per co-operative Societies’ Act, every year the Annual General Body Meeting is conducted. At the triennial meetings, eleven Governing Council (G.C.) members are elected by ballot. From out of the Governing Council members the office bearers like President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Asst. Secretary, Internal Auditor are elected by unanimous choice.
The term of the Governing Council members & the office bearers are three (3) years.
Annually all our accounts are audited by a qualified Chartered Accountant and are promptly submitted to statutory authorities.
A fully computerized back office under an administrator is looking after day to day work.
HONORARY SERVICE:-
A note worthy feature is all the office bearers are performing their duties on honorary basis without any remuneration, without even claiming any conveyance allowance.
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER:-

Day to day functioning of Institute is looked after by an Administrative Officer. The President & Secretary will also be at the office 3 or 5 days in a week to oversee the work. A qualified full time Administrative Officer has been appointed to ensure over all administration of all the four institutions, i.e., Primary, High School , P.U. & Degree Colleges.
Presently, Sri K.S. Ramesh is our Administrative Officer since July 2016. He is a retired Principal of Govt.P.U. College & was also a Dy.Director of P.U. Board.
Late Sri B.V. Narayana Reddy, General Manager (Chief Executive Officer) of "The Bank of Mysore Ltd., was guiding spirit in the formation of The Mysore Bank Employees Education Society" by the, employees of the Bank residing in the Just formed housing colony in 1st Block, Jayanagar.
He had also served as the 2nd President of the Society from 1961 to 1972. Importantly, he used his good offices, with the high government officials & was instrumental in getting nearly 3 acres of land allotted to our school in 1st Block Jayanagar for our Institutions.
Late Smt Rani Sarala Devi, from erstwhile royal family of Wanaparthi (now in Telangana State) donated Rs. 30,000/- a princely sum during early 50’s. The ground floor of our school building was constructed with the funds. She was elected as the First President of our Society and served from 1956 to 1961.
As a gesture of gratitude our educational Institute is named after her.
Late A. Krishnamurthy, next General Manager of The Bank of Mysore Ltd., succeeded the above as 3rd President & served longest term from 1972 to 2002.During his regime, lot of developments took place, the high school became co-educational & the Pre-University College was started to accommodate our own high school students to continue college education and also to cope up with the demand for education in the fast developing in Jayanagar area.
